Bored having only fruits or milkshakes or juices? Let’s try something new from the fruits to make it more special. Today we will make Papaya Balls from ripe papaya. It consists of ground papaya pulp, some dry fruits(optional) and a little bit ghee. Yay! all are healthy ingredients.

Papaya has a range of health benefits including asthma prevention and even anti-cancer properties. It is rich source of antioxidants, vitamins and nutritions. Papaya is a very good for bone health, digestion, skin & hair health and many more.

Papaya Balls with Frosting of Coconut Flakes

Ingredients

  • 1 bowl ripe Papaya cubes or half of medium sized papaya(around 400 to 500 gm)
  • 1/2 cup sugar(you can alter the quantity, depending on the sweetness of Papaya)
  • 1 tablespoon Ghee
  • 2 tablespoon grated Almonds/Cashews(optional)
  • 1/2 cup ground Coconut(for frosting)

Recipe

Grind Papaya cubes in blender to make soft pulp. Heat a pan and add pulp and sugar in it. Stir the mixture constantly on medium flame until sugar melts and pulp becomes thicker. It takes around 20 to 25 mins for the pulp to become thick.

Note: If you want to do this process in less time then you can add 1/3 cup of milk with 2 to 3 tablespoon corn flour in the milk. Make sure no lumps are formed while adding mixture of corn flour & milk(stir the liquid well to remove lumps before adding).

Then add grated Almonds/Cashews in the mixture(optional). Again stir the Papaya pulp mixture for 10 more mins after mixing the dry fruits. When your mixture is thick like a jelly/soft dough form(you can refer the video below to see the consistency of the pulp), then remove it in a bowl and let it cool by putting it into the refrigerator for approximately 1 hour.

After the pulp mixture cools down, you can easily make the small balls using hands. Then put coconut frosting over the ball to garnish.

I have explained the step by step procedure in the picture below. Also you can refer the video below.
